API - Forecast data of allergenic pollen and spores in Catalonia and the Balearic Islands

This API allows access to the (current) week forecast data of allergenic pollen and spores in Catalonia and the Balearic Islands, publicly available at: https://aerobiologia.cat/pia/en/forecast/catalunya, and https://aerobiologia.cat/pia/en/forecast/balears

Information includes:

  • Names of the taxons, present in the forecast.
  • Forecast table keys.
  • Information about the aerobiological station.
  • Forecast date (start, end).
  • Current levels values.
  • Forecast values.

NOTE: The forecasts for Catalonia and for the Balearic Islands are made separately. In a given week, the taxons present in each forecast could be different between the forecast for Catalonia and the forecast for the Balearic Islands. The API format does not change, it is always the same.

  • Attribution: Include a link to the PIA website, where the forecast information is displayed, if your design allows it. Otherwise, in a place dedicated to recognize authorship.
  • If you use our data in your project, we ask you to let us know at [email protected]. In order to be able to show that the data that PIA produces is useful for society, and to be able to continue producing this data.
  • For uses of forecast data, beyond the license CC BY-NC-SA 4.0, uses of real data of pollens and spores, etc. We are open to collaborative agreements. Contact us: [email protected]

Use and parameters

Web API URL: https://aerobiologia.cat/api/v0/forecast/[locality]/[lang]/xml

  • [locality] is one of the following options: "barcelona", "bellaterra", "girona", "lleida", "manresa", "roquetes", "tarragona", "vielha", "son", "inca"
    or
    "catalunya" for all stations of Catalonia
    or
    "balears" for all stations if the Balearic Islands (currenly only one station exist, Inca/Mallorca)
  • [lang] is one of the following options: "ca", "es" o "en" (the absence of the parameter, returns in Catalan by default)
